KHUZDAR: Five people lost their lives and 25 others, including women and children, were injured when a passenger coach collided head-on with a truck here on Saturday.

Levies officials said the coach coming from Quetta was on its way to Karachi when it rammed into a stationary truck at a turn near the Baghbana area of along the Quetta-Karachi national highway. As a result, five people died on the spot while 25 others sustained injuries.

Levies personnel rushed to the site along with rescue workers soon after receiving information about the incident. The bodies and injured were immediately taken to the Khuzdar teaching hospital. The passengers who were seriously injured were later shifted to Quetta for treatment.

Levies officials said the cause of accident was speeding as the coach driver had lost control of the vehicle at the turn.
