The Healthcare Department of Punjab government has ordered to change the colour scheme of bed sheets and pillowcases used in district hospitals as part of the first phase of its revamping programme, DawnNewsTV reported on Thursday.

According to a notification issued in this regard, a copy of which is available with DawnNewsTV, the provincial healthcare department has procured standardised bed sheets and pillowcases of three colours — sky blue, beige and white — all of whom bear the Punjab government logo.

The linen has already been dispatched to 40 hospitals and 15 emergency units along with a schedule defining which coloured sheet is to be used when.

The recipients have been asked to ensure that the standardised bedding is "clean, spotless and washed every day".

The accompanying instructions also instruct hospital staff to take due care when spreading the bed sheets so that the provincial government's insignia are correctly positioned.
