HYDERABAD: The furniture, fixtures and windowpanes of several rooms in the administration block of Rajputana Hospital — one of the city’s major private health facilities — were ransacked by some enraged employees who along with others were protesting against retrenchment of their 34 colleagues on Monday.

Paramedics and other employees took part in the protest, led by Sarfaraz Ali Rajput, president of the Sindh Paramedics Staff Association.

According to him, among the sacked employees were the hospital’s administrator and a doctor.

Police rushed to the hospital to bring the situation under control.

Mr Rajput said that the management had agreed to hold talks on the issue on Tuesday.
