Naveed lifts inter-school squash crown

KARACHI: Naveed Rehman captured the Inter-school squash championship boys under-17 title after he beat Rafi Khan 12-10, 11-6, 11-6 in the final at the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Jahangir Khan squash academy, PSB Coaching Centre, on Sunday.

The girls under-15 title went to Alishba Ibad who overcome stiff resistance from Aina Aziz before winning the fully stretched duel 11-9, 11-9, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8.

Young Huzaifa Ibrahim established his credentials by winning the honours in boys under-15 category. He outplayed Owais Mastoor 11-3, 11-6, 11-0 in the final.

Ammar Ali and Abdul Basir Khan annexed the boys under-13 and under-11 titles respectively.

General manager marketing of Candyland Ehtisham Khan gave away the prizes. Secretary Sindh Squash Association Rashid Ahmed was also present.

Boys under-11:

Abdul Basir Khan (Fazaia School Faisal) bt Mohammad Zaman (St. Michael’s School) 11-6, 11-6, 11-8.

Boys under-13:

Ammar Ali (Fazaia School Malir) bt Umar (Govt. School Faisal) 11-3, 11-6, 11-0.

Boys under-15:

Huzaifa Ibrahim (DHA SKBZ College) bt Owais Mastoor (Happy Home School) 11-3, 11-6, 11-0.

Girls under-15:

Alishba Ibad (Fazaia School Faisal ) bt Aina Aziz (St. Patricians Girls School) 11-9, 11-9, 10-12, 9-11, 11-8.

Boys under-17:

Naveed Rahman (M D Public School) bt Rafi Khan (City Grammar School) 12-10, 11-7, 11-6.
