QUETTA, May 18: A man was killed and another injured when an explosive devise which they intended to plant near the city site office of the Mirani dam project in Turbat township went off on Wednesday night. Another explosion was reported from Nushki town. “Yes, one saboteur died and the other suffered injuries. He has been taken into custody,” IGP Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob said while confirming the incident.

Sources said that the two were trying to plant the device to blow up the site office of a construction company which was working on the Mirani dam project. The device went off killing the saboteur who was carrying the bomb while the other received injuries and was arrested.

“Police was unable to establish the identity the dead person as his body was badly mutilated,” the IGP said, adding that the injured man was identified as Faiz Mohammad. He said that the arrested person could help police in tracking down others involved in subversive activities in Turbat and other areas of Makran.

“We have also arrested four suspects in the Nushki township bomb blast,” said Mr Yaqoob. A rocket explosion was reported near killi Badani, Nushki, on Wednesday night. The rocket fired from nearby mountains exploded in an open place. No causality was reported.
