KOHAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minister Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi announced Rs10 million for the Urban 6 union council in his newly-named constituency of KP-81 in Lachi tehsil on Monday.

He made the announcement on the occasion of joining of PTI by the elders of the union council.

It is to mention here that parts of Urban 6, including Tappi, Baqizai, Shaheeda Banda and Merozai, have been separated from the KP-82, Kohat tehsil, and included in KP-81 (old KP-37).

On the occasion, Mr Qureshi claimed that the PTI would form the government in KP and centre after the 2018 general elections on the basis of its performance.

He claimed that the dream of corruption-free Pakistan had been fulfilled due to the untiring efforts of party chief Imran Khan.

Those who announced joining PTI included district councillor Shahid Mehmood, village nazim Gul Nawaz, councillor Mehmood, Jehanzeb Khan, Malik Arshad, Malik Mansoor, Maulana Rafique, Hafiz Sardar, Hafiz Shabbir and Mohammad Rafique. The minister welcomed them in the party fold.

NEW DELIMITATIONS: Rural and urban parts of Kohat tehsil (old KP-38 constituency) have been merged into the two newly-named constituencies in Lachi and Gumbat tehsils on the population parity basis, said an election commission official on Monday.

He said the KP-38 constituency had now been named as KP-82; KP-39 as KP-81 and KP-37 as KP-80. He said the whole Urban 6 UC had been merged into KP-81 (old KP-39), Lachi tehsil, whose population was reported less in the recent census.

Similarly, rural areas like Mir Ahmedkhel, urban Kalo China, Basti Nizamuddin and Faqirabad in the eastern parts of Kohat tehsil have been included in KP-80 (old KP-37), Gumbat tehsil, by separating them from KP-82 (old KP-38), Kohat tehsil.

The ECP official said people having objections about the changed constituencies could submit applications to the commission by depositing Rs1,000 fee to the secretary Election Commission of Pakistan, Islamabad. For that purpose, he added, the applicant must be the voter of that particular constituency and should produce map etc to support his claim.
