Bahbood schemes

Published March 17, 2018

I AM a senior citizen who has seen 85 summers. I am also the holder of Bahbood Savings Scheme certificates, which I purchased about a year ago.

However, I regret to say that the profit that I am paid on these certificates works out to be around 7.8 per cent before taxes.

I want to ask the authorities how they expect this rate of profit to better the life of a pensioner who is aged 85 plus.

I request the finance minister to direct the National Savings Directorate to increase the profit rates for senior citizens on savings schemes.
