LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission has closed down businesses of 26 quacks in the city, and initiated further proceedings against them.

A spokesperson said here on Wednesday that during the last two days, PHC teams sealed businesses of 13 general quacks, seven fake dentists, four hakeems and two bone-setters.

The quacks posing as general physicians included Riaz Clinic, Iqbal Clinic, Ali Clinic, Hafsa Clinic, Asghar Clinic, Sher-e-Rabbani Clinic, Fauji Clinic and Medical Store, Ghazanfar Clinic, Ajmal Clinic, Lasani Clinic, Tauseef Clinic, Al-Shifa Clinic and Ali Children Clinic.

The businesses of Shamsi Dental and Optical Centre, Syed Dental Care Centre, Allah Ditta Dental Clinic, Rehman Dental Clinic, Doctors Dental Clinic, Tasleem Tufail Dental Clinic and Dental Care Clinic were also sealed.

The sealed outlets of hakeems included Chishti Dawakhana, Baba Siraj Dawakhana and Haidri Shifa Khana Jirrah besides bone-setters Allah Dita Hadi Jorr and Yousaf Jirrah.
