KARACHI: Top player Zubair Raja overcame stiff challenge from M A Saeed to win the men’s singles title while Yahya Ehtisham beat Ghufran Faiz to clince the under-15 title in the 8th IC Trophy Ranking Tennis Championship which concluded at the Union Club on Saturday.

Saeed Ahmed, Secretary International Lawn Tennis Club of Pakistan, was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes among the winners.

History was created when for the first time ever in Pakistan, a wheelchair tennis doubles competition was held and winners of this event was the pair of Asadullah and Nadeem.

Results:

Men’s Singles (final): Zubair Raja bt M A Saeed 6-7, 6-3, 10-4

U-15 Singles (final): Yahya Ehtisham bt Ghufran Faiz 6-4, 6-3

Men’s Doubles (final): Robin Das (Pak Customs) + Anil Das bt M Ali + Malik Fawad 8-3

Soft Tennis (final): Robin Das bt M A Saeed 5-2

Ladies Singles (final): Erij Batool Zaidi bt Zainab Ali 8-4

Soft Tennis Doubles (final): Zubair +Ahmed bt Robin Das + Anil Das 5-3

Soft Tennis Ladies (final) Erij Batool Zaidi bt Marium Shahid 5-2

Wheel Chair Doubles (final): Asadullah + M Nadeem bt M Ayub + M irfan 10-7.
