KARACHI: TRG Pakistan Ltd second quarter’s loss amounted to Rs1.227 billion, up 43.7pc, from Rs854m and loss per share at Rs0.62 against LPS at Rs0.56 in the corresponding period of 2016.

Loss for the half year ended Dec 31, 2017 amounted to Rs2.887bn (LPS: Rs1.92) compared with loss of Rs1.808bn and LPS at Rs1.35.

Revenue for the latest quarter stood at Rs12.7bn, up from Rs8bn year-on-year while for the half year, the figure reached Rs23.5bn and Rs16.7bn.

Khyber Tobacco profit soars: Khyber Tobacco Company Ltd (KTCL) recorded a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs111.4m for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2017, up 240 per cent from Rs32.8m in the same quarter of 2016. Earnings per share (EPS) increased to Rs23.18 from Rs6.82.

For the half year July-Dec 2017, PAT amounted to Rs185.5m (EPS: Rs38.60), from Rs79.2m (EPS: Rs16.47). The turnover for latest quarter stood at Rs402.1m against Rs241.6m in 2016, while half year revenues grew to Rs687.7m, from Rs422.3m.

Telecard incurs losses: The company reported loss after tax (LAT) at Rs29m (LPS: Rs0.10) for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2017, down from LAT at Rs50.7m and LPS at Rs0.17. For the half year leading up to Dec 2017, LAT amounted to Rs39.2m (LPS: Rs0.13) versus LAT at Rs78.3 (LPS: Rs0.26) in the same period of 2016.
