KARACHI: The chairman of Nadra, Usman Y. Mobin, paid surprise visits to different centres of the authority on Friday as a common applicant without revealing his identity.
The Nadra spokesman said the chairman interacted with applicants and heard their grievances. He even stood in queues, questioned the staff as a common man for different services and ordered immediate measures where he found irregularities.
“He personally observed that staff was not present on two counters at the SITE centre and they even refused a CNIC to a resident of another city."
“The chairman found that the staff was causing difficulties for the applicants. Following his observations, he suspended two officials of the SITE centre and warned others of the same fate if they cause problems for the card-seekers,” the spokesman said.
“Any Pakistani national can have his CNIC issued from any Nadra centre in the country,” he quoted Mr Mobin.

We appreciate and acknowledge your efforts and trouble that you took visiting NADRA Karachi. Pls do more of such visits. Although I have never had any issues with my CNIC with NADRA but we had to send our driver to gaon/upcontry as NADRA in Karachi refused to renew the poor man's CNIC. It was very frustrating for us. Thanks for making it abundantly clear that any Pakistani from anywhere can enter any NADRA office located anywhere for their services.

This is accountability, following into the footsteps of Chief Justice of the country. These random checks should be regular in all public services--Food, water, hospital, schools, NADRA, power and water, gas, etc. We shall soon see a new Pakistan with a high level of honesty and dedication. But before all this, please put all corrupt leaders behind bars for life.

Sir ur this order to get CNIC from any centre of Pakistan is abolsuely a rumour. Not a single centre is listening to the plea of an applicant.

I had applied for my Son’s Pakistan Origin Card a few months ago paying 17000 Rupee as application fee.
Neither did I received the card nor any explanation why it was not issued. I called, emailed, tried contacts in Pakistan, made online support tickets, nothing worked.
NADRA and her Chairman should be ashamed of themselves. They took away my rights as a citizen and that is a federal offence. But who cares, right Mr. Chairman?

It is true there were close to 500 people half of them were inside while half of them were outside under the scorching heat. It pathetic to see NADRA getting so much money from public and public this way. I am senior citizen and gone to get my NICOP. I was surprised they charged me the same for replacement card as they charge for a new card. Out of 3 there was only one counter working and the operator was too slow to have finished 2 persons in one hour and there was que of dusty people. Hope NADRA has some dignity to respect public and ask their employees to be present in all counter. They should stop treating public like animals.

This is what Pakistan needs now; all heads / chief of different departments / establishments have to follow this practice of NADRA Chief to pay surprise visits to their respective departments. I really appreciate this act of him.

Well appreciate his efforts, but was wondering how long he had to wait in que I am at the moment sitting in Nadra Mega center near 5 star chorangi had taken the number little before 5pm now it 12:17 and still waiting for my turn.
