GHALANAI: Unknown miscreants attacked a joint checkpost of Khasadars and Levies Force in Alingar area of Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.
An official of the local administration told journalists that unknown attackers opened fire on the checkpost with small arms during the night.
The security forces effectively responded and repulsed the attack. No loss of life was reported.
Meanwhile, personnel of Mohmand Rifles conducted a search operation in the adjoining areas and arrested five persons on suspicion and shifted them to Mamad Gat camp for interrogation.
