MINGORA: The counter terrorism department claimed to have arrested a militant in Qambar Bypass area here on Thursday.

According to Swat CTD police, following a tip-off a militant, identified as Farman Ali of Shingwatai Matta, was arrested in a raid in Qambar Bypass area. He was reportedly involved in antis-state activities during the Swat mayhem.

“Apart from other militant activities he was also involved in the attack and looting of former district nazim’s house at Matta,” said a CTD official.

Meanwhile, local sources said that an ailing child who was being shifted to hospital from Shangla district died on the way after he got stuck in a long queue at the security checkpost in Khwazakhela.
