MANSEHRA: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has approved a special grant of Rs300 million for equal distribution to three Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPAs in Mansehra district.

The development comes during a meeting between the prime minister and lawmakers Salah Mohammad Khan, Sardar Zahoor and Mian Ziaur Rehman in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Federal minster for religious affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf and district nazim Sardar Said Ghulam accompanied the MPAs.

Mr Salah told reporters here on Wednesday that Rs100 million would be spent in PK-53, PK-54 and PK-55 constituencies each on development projects.

He said all 17 PML-N MPAs in the province would get an equal share in the prime minister’s special grant of Rs1.7 billion as they’re discriminated against by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s provincial government over the funds’ distribution in the current and previous financial years.

ROADS STILL CLOSED: Many roads in the mountainous parts of Mansehra district remained closed for the third consecutive day on Wednesday due to the local administration’s failure to clear them of snow and landslides to the inconvenience of motorists and commuters.

Among these arteries were Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road and many links roads in Kaghan valley and Nawazabad and Jabori roads leading to the high-altitude parts of Siren valley.

The heavy snowfall also blocked the Kawai-Shogran Road in Balakot.

CONTRACTS AWARDED: The tehsil government of Judbah on Wednesday awarded contracts for around 120 development schemes valuing Rs60 million after the completion of tendering process.

The tendering process was carried out in the presence of tehsil nazim Haji Ahmad and naib nazim Maulana Shah Zameen, opposition leader in the tehsil council Ziaur Rehman and officials of local government department.

The nazim thanked both treasury and opposition members for sitting together and approving development schemes.
