ISLAMABAD: The metro bus station of Kutchery was damaged when a passenger of a white Toyota Corolla opened fire at the structure on Monday.
The police are looking for all four passengers of the car and the reason for the firing is also not known yet.
The bus station’s staff and a small number of passengers were present at the station when the incident happened.
A complaint was lodged by the checker in-charge of the metro station with the Margalla police against unknown persons.
The investigators examined the CCTV footage from the metro station and safe city cameras which show one of the passengers opening fire at the station and that the car came from F-10 and then went towards Faizabad via Khyber Chowk.
The police were also able to obtain the licence plate number of the car.
The police tracked down the address of the man in whose name the car was registered and when they got to his house, found that he had died some years ago and that his son was living outside the country.
However, the police found out that the car was in the possession of one of the deceased man’s relatives. When he was tracked down, this relative said he had rented the car to a rent-a-car dealer in G-8.
The police said investigations into the matter are underway.
