QUETTA: A 13-year-old girl was found strangulated in the Killi Ismail area of Quetta and the civil hospital said on Sunday that she was raped before being killed.

According to details, Kamran, brother of the class VI student, said he left home for about 30 minutes and when he came back he found his sister strangled with her scarf (dupatta).

A rescue team rushed to the scene and took the body to the civil hospital.

“An initial report suggests that the girl was raped before being strangled,” police surgeon Dr Noor Baloch told newsmen. A detailed report would be issued after the post-mortem examination, he added.

SSP operations Naseebullah said that the DNA samples would be sent to a forensic lab for verification. “Statements of her relatives have been recorded,” he said.

Investigation is under way.

Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the incident and ordered the deputy inspector general of police to submit a report in this regard.

He gave police officials two days to arrest the culprit(s) and warned that strict action would be taken if they failed to meet the deadline.
