KHAR: A delegation of leaders of All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance voiced its concern over lack of facilities at the Agency Headquarters Hospital here on Wednesday and called for tangible steps to improve the condition of the health facility.

The team led by PML-N local chapter president Rahat Yousaf visited various sections and departments of the hospital and interacted with patients and their attendants. Some of the patients and their attendants showed concern over shortage of treatment facilities at the hospital. They said that they had been facing difficulties in getting proper healthcare facilities owing to shortage of medicines and doctors in the agency.

The delegation was informed that a number of equipments at the hospital had been out of order for the last couple of months which forced the patients to visit private laboratories and clinics. The people also complained about the absence of waiting place for patients and attendants at the hospital. Later, the alliance leaders met with the senior officials of the hospital and informed them about the problems being faced by patients. The delegation expressed concern over the shortage of medicines, doctors and other health staff at the hospital.

The hospital officials said on the occasion that several posts of doctors and paramedics had been lying vacant since long despite assurances by the Directorate of Health Services Fata to fill them.
