LAHORE: The solo show of one of the most celebrated visual artists of the country, Saeed Akhtar, started at Ejaz Art Gallery on MM Alam Road on Sunday.

A large number of art fanciers visited exhibition where a red carpet was arranged.

Akhtar is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz 2012, Pride of Performance 1994 and Fellow of National College of Arts Lahore. He is among the most celebrated contemporary painters from Pakistan who has played an iconic role in the promotion of art and art education. His hard work, dedication and perseverance in drawing, painting and sculpture had inspired generations of Pakistani artists, marking his lifelong meritorious contributions.

Richly consistent yet inventive in nature, Saeed Akhtar’s drawings and paintings seem to depict tools for celestial intervention along with crafting vessels to hold the transient moment.

His sensibilities of form, texture and colour define his oeuvre lending any medium that he uses, a pulsating emotive quality.

The exhibition would continue on display for about a week.
