PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Saturday the government was working to facilitate the young generation by ensuring endless opportunities of development for them through internet connectivity.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the National Incubation Centre (NIC) at Islamia College Peshawar, he said the centre would definitely cater to the needs of the young generation vis-a-vis global access through internet.
He said the centre would eventually explore the capabilities of the young generation and serve as a bridge, by giving them access to opportunities from national and international markets.
Mr Abbasi said the provision of broadband facility is among requirements of the youth, like basic education, adding that it would help bring youth of far-flung areas into the national mainstream.
He said facilitation of the young generation would eliminate extremism and curb the Kalashnikov culture, thus opening new vistas of growth and prosperity. The young people who sought jobs after completing education would be able to support themselves, he said, and added it would also create employment for many more through such facility.
He said the NIC was a pilot project that would prove to be a milestone in utilising the energies of youth for the country’s progress.
