Pak-Iran ties

Published December 17, 2017

THIS is apropos the timely and brilliant editorial on the subject (Dec 11). Some plain and hard truths which created the distance between the two countries were pointed out elaborately. The corrective suggestions made must be taken notice of by the leadership in both countries.

Islamabad, however, must pay close attention to American moves. Sometimes events unfold themselves fortuitously. President Trump’s latest move has brought the Muslim world on one platform.

Availing themselves of this opportunity, Pakistan and Iran must come close to each other for their individual safety and mutual interests. The road is long but the first step is closer economic and cultural interaction.
