KHAR: A man was electrocuted in Bajaur Agency on Saturday, local people and officials said.

They said the victim identified as Said Jan was working on the 66,000KV transmission line in Khar town when he was electrocuted.

The 38-year-old man was seriously injured in the incident and died while being shifted to the agency headquarters hospital for treatment. Local residents said the deceased was associated with Tesco as a helper for past five years.

They said the deceased had informed the officials of local grid station before starting work on the transmission line.

Officials of the local administration also rushed to the site of the incident and took the mobile phone of the deceased into custody to know whether or not he had informed the grid station officials before climbing the pylon.
