Academic corruption

Published December 13, 2017

CORRUPTION in higher education has received a good electronic and print media coverage.

I was witness to corruption during an international conference, organised recently by the Department of Business Administration at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.

But the conference turned into a political show to please higher authorities. Although an academic conference aims at sharing the latest research findings and areas of potential research, the way research funds were administered in this conference raised a big question about the efficiency of the Higher Education Commission’s research and development department. Is the HEC distributing taxpayers’ money like peanuts?
