KOHAT: Kohat Deputy Commissioner Ilyas Khalid on Monday asked the ulema to give their schedule of programmes in connection with Eid Miladun Nabi in advance to help ensure foolproof security arrangements for the occasion.

He was chairing a meeting here attended among others by chairman of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Javed Ibraheem Paracha, elders, ulema, business community members and SP operations Mohammad Jameel.

On the request of the participants, the deputy commissioner ordered that there would be no loadshedding on 12 Rabiul Awwal, and directed the security agencies to prepare a security plan for the occasion. He assured that the administration would facilitate the community in every sphere for the peaceful celebration of the Eid Milad. He urged the clerics to avoid fiery speeches during their sermons which could hurt the feelings of other sects and communities and observe the functions in a peaceful manner.

OPEN FORUM FOR WOMEN: Speaking at the first ever open forum for women in Jungle Khel Urban-III on Monday, assistant commissioner Gul Bano said the government was mulling a plan to establish separate commercial markets for craftswomen.

She said the government would provide equal opportunities to the women as they could not be ignored in the country’s development. A large number of women, female councillors and heads of government departments were in attendance.
