QUETTA: Two suspected militants were killed in a gun battle with security forces during a search operation in Awaran district late on Friday night. According to official sources, the intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Pirandar area during which the clash erupted. The gunfight lasted two hours.

“Two suspected militants were killed,” Levies officials said, adding that one of the militants was identified as Wali, son of Nasibullah.

They claimed that the deceased belonged to a banned militant outfit.
