KARACHI: Sindh High Court Chief Justice (CJ) Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh on Friday directed a district and sessions judge and police to file their respective reports on media reports about the alleged torture of a labourer by a local landlord.

Taking notice of the reports, the CJ summoned reports from the Shaheed Benazirabad and Naushahro Feroze DIGs within three days.

According to reports, landlord Mansoor subjected labourer Aslam Mallah to torture and threw him into the river. Influential persons of the area were still hurling threats at him of dire consequences.
