Doing it together

This is with reference to the cover story, “Doing it together” (YW, November 18) by Sadia Maqsood. The article was very nice and highlighted some facts about problems faced by many students while working in groups.

Some people are bossy, so they try to impose their rules without considering the opinion of others. However, the idea of team or group work in projects is to do it in a much better way.

The curse of cheating

This is with reference to the article “The curse of cheating” by Syeda Armeen Nasim (YW, November 4).The writer did a great job in reminding people about this crime, without anyone doing anything for it.

We should stop students by reporting them to the teachers immediately, or if the teachers are also helping them, then we should complaint to the senior authorities. Cheating will stop if both students and teachers join hands.

Top habits of top students

This is apropos to the cover story, “Top habits of top students” by Ambreen Arshad (October 21, 2017). I particularly enjoyed reading this article for a number of reasons.

First, children today need to know the intricate details and insights to earning good grades. The era of rote learning has gone. Today, students need to learn from their mistakes, motivate themselves to learn, take their notes during lectures and ask for help when in need. These points were covered in the article, hence, making it a comprehensive read.

Second, the writer aptly said that knowledge becomes enforced and lasting when applied. One must always find avenues to apply their knowledge, especially university students who go for internships or jobs.

I also agree with the writer when she wrote about practicing subjects like algebra, calculus and language. Practice does make you better and any subject you study needs practice so you can understand its concepts and become a better professional and a better person.

An alien friend

This is with the reference to story “An alien friend” by Mohammad Bilal Tahir (YW, October 14). The story had a good message for all the readers as the writer drew our attention towards the worst problem present in our beautiful world — terrorism.

If we want successful lives, we have to create a peaceful world. And for that we have to work together by getting rid of hatred and racism from our hearts.
