KARACHI: Vital Five Cricket Club beat Al-Noor Gymkhana by 65 runs at KCCA Stadium on Friday to lift the Fazal Mahmood Club Cricket title in style.

Al-Noor Gymkhana won the toss and asked Vital Five to bat first made who scored 235 all out in 48.3 overs. Akbar Baber scored a fluent 48 while Saad Alam score a breezy 41 off just 59 balls. Hassan Mehmood also chipped in with a quickfire 29 off 24 balls and Tassawar Abbas also scored 28 off 18 deliveries.

Ahmed Iqbal captured 3-42 while Sanjay grabbed 3-38.

In reply, Al-Noor Gymkhana were bowled out for 170 in 43.4 overs with only Muhammad Zubair (48) and Ahmed Iqbal (42) contributing well with the bat. Faheem Ahmed bowled superbly to take 3-18 and was supported well by Yasir Hussain who captured 3-99.

Jawed Raza, Chairman Vital Five Cricket Club, was the chief guest on the occasion and gave away the prizes.

Faheem Ahmed (15 wickets) was declared best bowler of the tournament and Hafiz Asad Baig (174 runs) was declared the best batsman of the event.
