KARACHI: Holders Neighbourhood Club staged a comeback after interval to post an exciting 48-35 victory over fighting One Unit Club in the 12th National Bank of Pakistan Cup basketball tournament at the Arambagh floodlit court on Monday evening.

Neighbourhood had a tough time in the first two quarters losing the first 9-12 and winning the second 13-10 to be tied 22-all at half time.

However, they put their act together winning the third quarter 11-7 and the fourth 15-6 to justify their billing in their group A opener.

The trio of Hamza (16), Raja (12) and Asad (8) were instrumental in their team’s triumph.

Talal was the only player who finished in double figures for the losers with 12. He was assisted by Kashif eight and Danish six.

In an earlier group A match, Bounce Club sent Karachi Colts packing 39-18. The winners led 22-10 at half time.

The winners dominated the entire match right from the word go which is evident from their scores – 15-6, 7-4, 10-4, 7-4 – in the four quarters.

Mubashir led the team from the front and garnered 15 points. He was supported by Shahmir six and Asad eight.

Safeer scored eight points for the losers and was followed by Mahmood Haider four.
