President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday said that the nation had high hopes from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) with respect to the "Islamisation" of the country's laws.

He made the remark during a meeting with Allah Bakhsh Kalyar, one of the newly appointed members of the institution.

The president congratulated Kalyar on his appointment and expressed hope that he would meet the people's expectations as a member of the institution.

Kalyar, who was appointed earlier this month, thanked the president for entrusting him with the responsibility and vowed that he would work diligently during his three-year tenure.
