KARACHI: Larkana won the second Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Sindh Judo Championship which concluded here at Dewa Academy the other day.

Larkana judokas seized two golds and a bronze medal to collect 35 points for the honours.

Though Sanghar also fetched 35 points from one gold and two silver medals, they had to be content with second position.

Mirpurkhas came third securing three bronze for a tally of 15 points.

Defending champions Sukkur failed to find a place among the top three outfits.

Hyderabad and Nawabshah were the other teams that competed in the championship.

Twenty-four judokas participated in the event that was held in three weight categories.

Sports and CSR chief of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Ovais Asad Khan, who graced the finals, gave away the prizes. Sindh Judo Association president Syed Waseem Hashmi and secretary Mohammad Ali were also present on the occasion.

Results:

—50 kg:

1 Naimatullah (Sanghar), 2 Umer Shabab (Hyderabad), 3 Imran Ali (Larkana) and Irfan (Mirpurkhas).

—56 kg:

1 Mehrab Ali (Larkana), 2 Abdul Rehman (Sanghar), 3 Zoraiz Ahmed (Mirpurkhas) and Niaz Anwar (Nawabshah).

Open weight:

1 Sajid Ali (Larkana), 2 Rana Hamid (Sanghar), 3 Nawaid Akhtar (Mirpurkhas), Ashraf Ali Khaskheli (Sukkur).
