Off-spinner Muhammad Hafeez's bowling action was the subject of an independent assessment held at the Loughborough University in England on Wednesday.

According to sources, Hafeez was asked to bowl four overs for the test. The report is likely to arrive in two weeks.

If he's unable to clear the test, Hafeez will face suspension and be asked to correct his action and pass the test again. He last faced a one-year suspension after his action was found to flout ICC rules.

However, the all rounder is confident of a good outcome and is hopeful to be able to bowl again in international cricket.

"Everything went well and I am confident that the result of bowling action test will be good," he said while talking to Dawn.com.

He had also exuded confidence as he left for England earlier this week, saying he's been bowling with the same, re-modeled bowling action previously cleared by the ICC.

Hafeez, who has been suspended twice — in December 2014 and July 2015 — was reported for bowling with a suspect action during the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on October 18.
