Slapping the cop

Published October 20, 2017

IT was really a shameful act that the additional advocate-general of Punjab slapped a policeman at an accountability court. Why did not the Punjab Inspector- General register an FIR against the lawyer? Why was the advocate-general visiting the court where Maryam Nawaz and her husband retired captain Safdar were being tried? Why is the newly-appointed NAB chairman silent on the issue?

It is a known fact now that such persons are loyal to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and not to the state of Pakistan. Without appropriate action against the raging lawyer, the concept of good governance will never prevail in the country.

The chief justice of Pakistan and the Chief of army staff have already said that their institutions cannot change the status quo. Who will save the country, then?
