Indian cricket fans wanting to watch the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will now be able to watch it on their television sets, as DSport, associated with the Discovery channel, has acquired the rights to broadcast the league in India, the channel says on its website.
PSL was previously not broadcast in India, and those wanting to watch the games had to stream it over the internet.
The league's viewership is expected to increase considerably with the development, which will positively impact advertising revenues and help the league grow.
PSL's third edition begins in February next year, while the players' drafts are expected next month. Six teams will now participate in the league, with Multan Sultans being the newest addition.
Some of the matches of PSL 2018 will be played in Pakistan, with four of them being played in Karachi in the best case scenario, Chairman PCB Najam Sethi revealed on Wednesday.

Pakistan needs India for it's viewership. In a few years, Indian viewership will decide the league's revenue. What will happen when India plans to ban broadcast of PSL?

PSL matches would be viewed probably only in Kashmir. Rest of India won't be enthusiastic to watch PSL as we hardly see IPL these days.

@timetostopthis with all due respect IPL is way ahead of PSL in terms of players calibre and quality. Please let us know how high quality non Pakistan player in PSL not playing in IPL. I don't think Indians are starved as Australia just visited and waiting for NZ. . Also quality of recentcricket in UAE was well below par.

@Good Riddance too much of wishful thinking. Even PSL may not get hired due to some or the other reasons. There is already lots of cricket played in India as Australia just visited and waiting for NZ so don't think there will be much appetite. More over focus is also shifting to kabaddi , Badminton, Football leagues. Not entire new generation is hooked to cricket

The highest number of online streamers for previous additions were from India. So good.. IPL is watched in Pakistan too though I don't watch or follow sinces they stopped taking our guys.. there is should be no racism in sports.

TBH we Indians love high scoring games, most the matches of PSL 1 & 2 were dominated by bowlers if this trend continues in upcoming season then it hardly get good viewership here. may be you will need to produce batting friendly tracks, conditions...

Since Dsport broadcast only in HD service and I have only Tatasky SD connection, therefore theoretically I will not able to watch PSL. BTW, I am now not a Cricket fan, but love to watch Pro Kabaddi. Today eager to wait for match Puneri Paltan vs Jaipur pink panther.
