SHANGLA: The district administration on Monday lodged cases against owners of several filling stations for tampering with the dispenser gauge.

Raids were conducted in Bisham, Alpuri and Puran on the directives of deputy commissioner Abdul Hameed Khan and cases were registered against owners of several filling stations.

A statement issued here said Assistant Commissioner, Alpuri, Tariq Mehmood booked under the petroleum act owners of three stations for tampering with the gauges.

Similarly, Bisham assistant commissioner raided filling stations in Bisham city and lodged FIRs against the owners for committing the malpractice.

Filling stations in Puran were also raided and cases were registered against those found in the irregularity.

HAZARDOUS PLASTIC PIPES: The people of Puran tehsil on Monday complained plastic pipes being used for supplying clean drinking water to people were hazardous for health.

Aloch village council nazim Umar Rehman and others told reporters that plastic pipes used in water supply schemes caused hepatitis and other diseases among people.

He demanded of the provincial government to take notice of the matter as plastic pipes were also being distributed among the people by politicians to increase their vote bank.

SLOW PACED WORK RESENTED: Special assistant to chief minister, Haji Abdul Munim has ordered the contractors to expedite work on the ongoing schemes in PK-88 constituency.

He was addressing a Khatm-i-Quran function at a madressah in Chakesar on Monday, where MPA Shaukat Yousafzai, Nawaz Mehmood Khan and others also spoke.

Mr Munim said several development schemes, including road, school and health, were underway but due to slow pace of work the projects were delayed.

He ordered speeding the work so the projects could be complete on scheduled time.

On the occasion, Mr Yousafzai said thousands of students had been getting education in seminaries in Shangla. He announced Rs500,000 and solar lights for the seminary.
