KARACHI: With the confirmation of two more deaths in the city due to dengue haemorrhagic fever, the toll in Sindh this year has climbed to 11, officials said on Saturday.

The officials in the provincial health ministry said a young woman and an elderly man were the two latest victims of the lethal mosquito-borne infection.

Three of the total 11 victims of the deadly infection were reported in October’s first week.

Nazish Arsalan, 27, a resident of Landhi died on Thursday night at a private hospital. The officials said it was confirmed that she died due to dengue fever.

Abdul Rasheed, 66, residing near Tipu Sultan Road, was another victim of the same infection. He died in the same hospital on Friday.
