KARACHI, Aug 20: A fully-fledged debris clean-up operation on modern lines is being launched on Thursday across the slick-hit beach area, according to the provincial Home Secretary and Chairman of the Crisis Management Committee, Syed Anwar Haider.

Speaking at a meeting of the committee in his office here on Wednesday, Mr Haider mentioned that the foreign experts engaged in the slick-combat operation, demonstrated appropriate methods for a proper cleaning up work and removal of debris from the beach. Experts and workers belonging to different departments watched the on-site demonstration, he added.

Mr Haider impressed upon all the staff engaged in the operation to take all precautionary measures and ensure provision of safety equipment and utensils.—APP
