LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khwaja Salman Rafiq says the Pakistanis doctors are equally on a par with those of developed counties in terms of talent and professional ability.

According to a handout, he stated this while addressing the second convocation of the Gujranwala Medical College (GMC) on Monday.

Khwaja Rafiq said it’s hard for the doctors facing a huge workload in the hospitals to satisfy every individual. He said no doctor intentionally committed negligence but as human being mistakes and omissions were natural. He urged the fresh graduates to work hard to take forward the mission of their teachers.

While commenting on the demand of regularisation of employees of the medical college, he said he would pursue the matter.

GMC Principal Prof Dr Aftab Mohsin also spoke.

UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan, DHQ Teaching Hospital MS Dr Anwar Amman, MNAs, MPAs, members board of management of the GMC, faculty, doctors and fresh graduates attended the function.
