ISLAMABAD: Nadeem Akram would be the only national judoka to represent Pakistan at the World Senior Judo Championship scheduled to be held in Budapest from Aug 26.

Talking to APP, PJF vice-president Masood Ahmed said, “Earlier we had named four judokas for the mega event, including Shah Hussain Shah, Qaiser Khan, Nadeem and Amina Pyda.

“Shah Hussain and Amina got injured and therefore could not make it for the championship.

“After that we were left with only two judokas, Qaiser and Nadeem. But due to unavoidable reasons, Qaiser was not granted visa which also resulted in his ouster from the championship,” he said.

Now Nadeem, he said, would be the only national judoka to represent Pakistan at the World event in Budapest.

“Nadeem will depart for Hungary on Aug 25. The championship will continue till Sept 3,” he said.

He said as many as 80 judokas from different countries would be participating in the mega event.
