RAWALPINDI: A mother of four was gunned down allegedly by her father-in-law over a domestic dispute in the limits of the Racecourse police on Tuesday.

The police said the alleged killer, Abdul Ghafoor Awan, a retired army personnel, had been arrested and the weapon used in the murder recovered.

The police investigating officer told Dawn that the alleged killer exchanged harsh words with his 37-year-old daughter-in-law.

She was standing on the first floor of the house when the suspect fired gunshots at her from the courtyard, killing her on the spot. The police said the husband of the woman owns a private clinic in Chakra area.
