KASUR: A truck driver suffered serious burn injuries on Tuesday when the truck, he was driving, caught fire after touching high tension transmission wires at village Theeng Chak 7 in Pattoki.
Driver Jamil Ahmed was first rushed to the Pattoki Tehsil Headquarters Hospital only to be referred to the Lahore Jinnah Hospital in a critical condition.
According to some villagers, Lahore Electric Supply Company authorities ignored their repeated complaints to fix the loose wires.
In another incident, Tanvir Ahmed of Nathay Khalsa village was electrocuted when he touched live wires.
Police handed over the body to the family.
MURDERED: A man allegedly strangled his wife over a domestic issue on Tuesday at village Bahrwal in the jurisdiction of Sarai Mughal Police Station.
Parveen Bibi married Allah Ditta a few months back but the couple failed to develop compatibility. On Tuesday, both Ditta and Parveen exchanged words and Ditta strangled her.
The police sent the body to hospital to ascertain the cause of her death and registered a case against Ditta.
