PESHAWAR/ABBOTTABAD: A few members of Muslims Student Federation, affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-N, staged a demonstration in front of the Peshawar Press Club to express their anger over the Supreme Court judgment, disqualifying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Panama corruption case.

The MSF workers announced that they would observe protests across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday (today) against the apex court verdict.

MSF president Syed Haider Shah Bacha said workers would stage a dharna in front of the Governor House and block roads in Peshawar.

“We request Nawaz Sharif not to resign,” he said. “Imran Khan’s dream to become the prime minister will never come true.”

In Abbottabad, Pakistan Muslim League-N activists took out a protest rally against the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by the Supreme Court. Party MPA Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha, who is also president of PML-N Abbottabad district, led the protesters who started marching from Fawara Chowk and converged at the press club.

The workers were holding placards and party flags and portraits of Nawaz Sharif.

They were chanting slogans against PTI chief Imran Khan. Addressing the protesters, MPA Nalotha claimed that Nawaz Sharif had become victim of an international conspiracy against Pakistan.

He said that Nawaz Sharif had put the country’s economy on right path and Pakistan was becoming one of the emerging economic powers because of CPEC.
