LAHORE: Millat Park police on Thursday arrested a man on charge of raping his teenage daughter.

A 15-year-old girl filed a complaint with the police, stating that she was sleeping alone at her house where she lived with her brother and father in the Pakki Thathi area of Samanabad. She said her father had divorced their mother some eight to 10 years ago. On Thursday morning, her father woke her up and sexually assaulted her. She tried to stop her father and raised a hue and cry but he gagged her by stuffing his shirt into her mouth and then raped her. The man then threatened to kill her if she told anyone about her ordeal.

The girl said that she called her mother and brother and told them about the incident. They accompanied her to the police station where she filed the complaint.

Station House Officer Asad Mehmood Quraishi said they had registered the rape case against the suspect and arrested him but he had denied the charge. He said the police had sent the girl to hospital for a medical examination and were waiting for the report.
