LAHORE: The National Commission for Justice and Peace (NCJP) on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack in Lahore.
In a statement, NCJP Chairperson Bishop Dr Joseph Arshad, National Director Rev Fr Emmanuel Yousaf and Executive Director Cecil S. Chaudhry said killing innocent people and security officials was unacceptable.
Deploring that extremist groups are using young people for destruction, they said there was a need to join hands despite religio-political or cultural differences. “We all need to stand together with government officials in every possible way to fight against extremism.”
The commission calls upon the government to bring the perpetrators to justice and address extremist elements and root causes of this intolerance; to tighten its measures for protection of all citizens and officials,” reads the statement.
