ISLAMABAD: The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has planned to initiate compulsory training for capital schoolteachers, a nutrition programme for children and restructuring of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

Talking to APP here on Friday, Adviser on PM Education Reforms Programme Ali Raza said that these programmes were in the pipeline and would be started soon in the public sector schools of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

He said around 10,000 teachers would be given compulsory training under the programme.

CADD will finalise criteria for training and teachers would be offered optional training courses which would be mandatory for promotions, he added.

He said CADD would restructure the role and powers of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

CADD will decide that how much powers should be given to heads of the schools and the Area Education Officers (AEO) so that issues could be resolved at local level.

A nutrition programme would be launched for Montessori children, studying in the schools of the ICT.

Under the plan around 110,000 children would be given nutritious diet in schools and they would also be given uniform and stationery twice a year.
