Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yaldarim on Thursday during an official visit to Turkey and expressed his support of the country's position on Cyprus, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

"Pakistan and Turkey share the same stance on many issues," the COAS said. "Pakistan supports Turkey's position on Cyprus as well as its efforts against terrorism of all hue and colour."

Both parties discussed matters related to regional security and common challenges facing the two "brotherly countries".

The Turkish PM appreciated the positive role Pakistan plays in the region as well as in the larger Muslim world. He reiterated Turkey's support for Pakistan's stance on Kashmir.
