ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain returned to the country on Sunday after performing Umrah and having a meeting with King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia.

According to the president’s spokesman, Mr Hussain arrived in the evening along with his delegation aboard a commercial flight.

Before his arrival, the president called on King Salman at the Safa Palace in Makkah.

King Salman had invited the president and his delegation to Iftar at his palace. Both the leaders discussed matters of mutual and bilateral interest.

The president said that Pakis­tan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed fraternal relations and all Pakistanis had a special place for Saudi Arabia in their hearts.

Mr Hussain appreciated King Salman’s efforts for providing more and better facilities to Umrah and Haj pilgrims.

Later, the president was seen off by Governor of Jeddah Prince Mashal bin Majid bin Abdul Aziz, Mayor of Jeddah Dr Hani bin Mohammad Abu Raes and other Saudi officials at the King Abdul Aziz airport in Jeddah.
