KHUZDAR: A man and a woman were shot dead in the name of honour in a village near Kalat on Sunday.

Police said that two armed men opened fire on the woman and the man in the village, killing both on the spot.

The male victim was identified as Ghulam Farooq while the name of the woman could not be ascertained.

The armed men escaped after the murder. Police took bodies of the victims to Kalat district hospital and later handed them over to family members.

“It is an incident of honour killing,” a senior police officer said, adding that a case had been registered against the culprits.

Meanwhile, Levies found a bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man from Chaphar area on the outskirts of Kalat town.

The body was taken to a hospital for identification.
