SHANGLA: Local MPA Mohammad Rashad Khan has warned the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) to stop excessive and unscheduled power loadshedding in the Shangla district, otherwise, the consumers would storm its office in Bisham.

Talking to mediapersons here on Monday, he said with start of Ramazan Pesco had increased loadshedding duration causing severe problems to the consumers.

“Duration of power outage has been increased to 22 hours in Bisham, Maira, Shang, Batkot, Kund and other areas. Disruption of power supply during Sehr and Iftar is clear violation of the announcement made by the federal government, he regretted.

Mr Rashad said Pesco staff in Bisham subdivision should mend their ways otherwise they would storm the power utility’s office.

He alleged that Pesco officials were making lame excuses of line losses, saying that neither there was a complaint centre nor any phone number for lodging complaints in Bisham office.

The lawmaker demanded of PML-N leadership, particularly adviser to the prime minister Amir Muqam, to take notice of excessive loadshedding in the district.
