BAHAWALPUR: Eight passengers were killed and 20 others suffered injuries in a collision between two vehicles at Chowk Maitla of Bahawalpur-Vehari and Khanewal junction on Bahawalpur-Khanewal Road about 60 kilometres from here on Sunday.

The accident took place due to speeding trailer. Both drivers managed to escape and the injured were taken to the hospitals of Jahanian, Khanewal and Lodhran.

YOUM-I-TAKBEER: The PML-N activists and office-bearers on Sunday celebrated Youm-i-Takbeer to commemorate the nuclear blast about 19 years ago in 1998.

In this connection, PML-N Municipal Corporation member Bilal Baloch organised a function at his residence.
