KARACHI: The religious affairs ministry notified on Wednesday that Nisab for Zakat had been fixed at Rs38,405.

No deduction of Zakat should be made at source in case the bank account in question had less than the said amount, the ministry said in the notification it sent to the State Bank of Pakistan.

Zakat would be deducted from the profit-and-loss sharing accounts and all other saving accounts.
